Yerevan Municipality jointly with “RepatArmenia” foundation for the third time have organized “Yerevan Half Marathon” the main aim of which is popularization of healthy lifestyle, development of sport tourism and strengthening of the ties of Armenian of Diaspora with homeland.

The festive program dedicated to the 2799th anniversary of Yerevan foundation was finished with a fright firework lit the night sky of the capital.The countdown of the days remaining till the 2800th anniversary of Yerevan is beginning tomorrow.  

The festive events of “Erebuni-Yerevan 2799” lasted till late at night. Youth disco was organized in Azatutyan square. High mood of everybody was provided by DJ Dale. Together with the young people the representatives of older generation enjoyed the dances as well.

The festive events held within the scope of “Erebuni-Yerevan 2799” celebration were going on from early morning till late at night. Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan joined the townspeople celebrating the day. The Mayor walked about the small center of the capital, watched the festive events and congratulated townspeople.

Within the frames of ‘Erebuni-Yerevan 2799” celebration the concert called “Yerevan-city of love” was held in the area of “Cascade” complex. In his greeting speech addressed to townspeople, the members of official delegations and guests of the capital Yerevan Mayor in particular said:

On the event of the 2799th anniversary of the capital, for significant contribution to the cultural life of Yerevan and achievements in the art of music Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan awarded “Argishti the First” medal to the composer, professor of State Conservatoire after Komitas, the Arm SSR People’s Artist Robert 

Following the decision of Yerevan Council of Elders made on October 11, on the event of the 2799th anniversary of the capital, Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan solemnly handed the title of “Honorary Citizen of Yerevan” to the film director, the RA People’s Artist Artavazd Peleshyan; to the TV presented, the ArmSSR People’s Artist Nara Shlepchyan; to the writer, public figure Razmik Davoyan and the Manager General of “VivaCell-MTS” company Ralf Yirikyan.
