Brief report on the activities of the department in 2024

Notification

In 2024, the re-equipment and modernization of the centralized warning system of Yerevan continued. In particular, 100 new electric sirens were purchased, remote controls for electric sirens were installed, and the centralized control system was re-equipped, which, if necessary, allows for the organization of prompt notification and information of the population.

85 of the replaced electric sirens were donated by Yerevan Municipality to Tavush region.

Fire safety
During the reporting period, 101 fire hydrants were repaired and installed. 120 fire shields with kits were distributed to preschool educational institutions operating under Yerevan Municipality. A design and estimate service was purchased for the construction of 26 external fire hydrants.

Shelter
In 2024, work continued on cleaning the basements of educational and preschool institutions, sports, cultural and medical organizations adjunct to Yerevan Municipality to meet the standards of shelters.
Explanatory work continued on registering the population and attaching residents to certain shelters, in particular, 15 thousand leaflets with rules of conduct for the population during an air raid were posted in the entrances of apartment buildings.
In the reporting year, design and estimate services were purchased for the major repairs of 4 shelters.

Training
In 2024, 398 employees of Yerevan Municipality and its subordinate organizations underwent training at the State Academy of Crisis Management of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Armenia.
The employees of the Department of Emergency Situations and Civil Defense of the Department of Conscription and Civil Defense have established strict control over the implementation of the activities envisaged by the Basic Plan of Activities for the Protection of the Population in Emergencies and the Preparation of Civil Defense Systems for 2024 in Yerevan.

Plans for 2025

Notification
In 2025, it is planned to carry out scheduled maintenance of the warning system of the city of Yerevan, in particular, daily monitoring of the condition of electric sirens and control units, and, if necessary, their repair.

Fire safety
It is planned to build external fire hydrants, as well as repair and reconstruction of existing faulty fire hydrants in Yerevan.
Regularly update the primary fire extinguishing equipment of organizations under Yerevan Municipality. 120 fire points with kits will be purchased for schools and kindergartens.

Shelter
The process of cleaning the basements of organizations under the jurisdiction of the Yerevan Municipality will continue in 2025.
After the change in the regulatory framework, control over the cleaning and maintenance of basements of apartment buildings will be established.
Updated information leaflets will be placed in the entrances of apartment buildings.

Training
In 2025, the State Academy of Crisis Management of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Armenia plans to train 472 students.
In 2025, more attention will be paid to training provided for in the annual plans of the main events of organizations under the jurisdiction of the Yerevan Municipality. Didactic teaching materials will be purchased.
