Mental Health Awareness Event at Yerevan Municipality
May is recognized as Mental Health Awareness Month, and to mark the occasion, Yerevan Municipality hosted a thematic event. Deputy Mayor of Yerevan Sargis Madatyan delivered the opening remarks.
A panel discussion titled “Promoting Mental Health as an Interdepartmental Priority” was attended by RA National Assembly MP Rustam Bakoyan; Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Tatevik Stepanyan; Deputy Minister of Health Armen Gasparyan; Head of the Psychotherapy Section of the British Psychological Society Angela Shengxi Miao; and Head of the Department of Children and Social Protection of the Yerevan Municipality Gevorg Gharibyan.
During the session, the speakers addressed the primary challenges in the field, emphasizing their importance and exploring potential strategies to overcome the existing problems. A video message was also shared by Amanda Clinton, Director of the Office of International Affairs at the American Psychological Association (APA).
