To improve the efficiency of road traffic and public transport management in Yerevan, the “Yerevan Traffic Management Center” Community Agency was established by Decision No. 456-A of the Yerevan City Council dated November 18, 2025. The Agency was officially registered on January 5, 2026.
The Center’s main objective is to establish a modern, data-driven system for traffic and public transport management in Yerevan through the use of digital technologies and data analytics tools.
The Center is intended to collect, process, and analyze data related to traffic and transport systems using various technological sources, including vehicle positioning systems, video surveillance, and other digital systems. Based on the data obtained, it is planned to analyze traffic flows, public transport performance, infrastructure conditions, and urban mobility, as well as to develop proposals, solutions, and implementation measures aimed at improving traffic organization and management.
The Center also plans to ensure, in a phased manner, the monitoring of traffic management infrastructure, including traffic signal systems, bus stops, and other transport solutions, and on that basis to develop analyses, proposals, and projects aimed at improving traffic efficiency, reducing congestion, and ensuring safer and more sustainable urban mobility in the city.
In 2026, the Center’s activities will be mainly focused on establishing the organizational and technical foundations, inventorying systems and data sources, and developing the Center’s short-term and long-term development strategy.
The Center’s activity is also an important component of Yerevan’s Smart City development concept, contributing to data-driven governance, smart mobility, and the development of digital management tools. It is aligned with the goals of sustainable urban development by supporting more efficient traffic management, the creation of a greener and safer urban environment, and the development of modern mobility systems.
