Yerevan mayor watched the process of work at the building sites of the capital
During his current working inspective visit about the capital Yerevan mayor Karen Karapetyan got acquainted to the activities carried out in road building and outward improvement of buildings and constructions in the capital.
At this moment active work is going on in Tsitsernakaberd highway. A new segment of 2 km being built in Atenki street which connects Haghtanak bridge with Leningradyan street will connect several streets. With the aim of traffic flows regulation a new by-pass over-ground crossing is being built. Besides, it has been provided to build a new segment from Tsitsernakaberd highway to Isakov avenue.
Karen Karapetyan offered to increase the number of workers and continue the work in three shifts. The executives from «Yerevanproject», however, assured that the traffic part of the road were to be ready earlier than it had been established - by September 1. There won't be any traffic lights in this segment, so it will relief the traffic in the capital and offload the by-passing roads.
The next stop of the mayor was at the house-museum of Charles Aznavour. Walking around the territory of the building constructed adjacent to Cascade, Karen Karapetyan instructed to start the improvement of the area surrounding the museum from the very following day.
The drivers moving along David-Bek street still have problems in moving along this street but not because of badly arranged road but because of building going on here. By the way, up today 300 thousand sq m of road has already been asphalted in the capital, 150 thousand linear meters of cracks in asphalt cover have been filled.
In this part of Abovyan street, where there are a lot of arches a few days ago the passers-by could only see torn pieces old announcements and bad scrawls left on the walls, today the mayor got personally confident that this formerly awkward porch has got an absolutely new look due to colourful illustrations. In a few months this example won't be the only one. The arches of other buildings in the capital are to be coloured and improved this way.
During his visit Karen Karapetyan got acquainted and gave his appraisal to the activities of cleaning and painting of buildings in different streets of the capital, to the tiling of mosaics of the building of the musical college after Romanos Melikyan, buildings in Tpagrichneri - Vardanants, Amiryan - Mashtots streets. Such decorative solutions of buildings’ improvement is not only a new approach, but also a new culture.
Up to now outward cleaning and painting of 245 buildings have been carried out in Yerevan. Painting of metallic fences is coming to its end as well. The mayor visited the segment of Mashtots - Saryan of the Main Avenue, where the improvement of the garden is going on. By October the fountains are to be repaired and benches are to be placed, lighting is to be installed. The work has been accomplished in 3 parks of the capital.
The problem of lighting has already been solved in 12 streets. The construction of 3 over-ground crossings is going on. At the moment the improvement and repairing of Hrazdan gorge and Davtashen bridge is still going on. 18 thousand sq m of sidewalks has been improved for pedestrians.
Estimating the current activities mayor Karen Karapetyan stressed that the municipality should be more farsighted regarding the terms, and new building terms are to be determined, because the terms established for building process at Davtashen bridge and David-Bek street is coming to its end earlier than it had been established. "During the visit we fixed that all the processes are going on within terms and in some cases even earlier, so we have to determine appropriate terms for building activities. There is a lot of work, the end of which is determined for November, but these terms are illogical. In this regard we have a lot of work to do so that the tenders will be announced on time. For example, in case of building over-ground crossings the terms are to be established for September 1, and it would be logical", noted the mayor. Karen Karapetyan also said that all the programs planned specially for the 20th anniversary of the RA Independence, were to be finished in time and both outward look of the capital and the general environment would noticeably change.
