Distinguished cameraman Levon Atoyants has been awarded with Yerevan Mayor’s Gold Medal
For the development of cinema art and significant contribution to the Golden Fund of Armenian Cinema, the cameraman Levon Atoyants has been awarded with Yerevan mayor’s Gold Medal. The medal was handed to the distinguished cameraman by Deputy mayor of Yerevan Sergey Harutyunyan.
The Deputy Mayor mentioned that it was a great honour for him to hand in the medal to the legendary cameraman.
‘The contribution you have made into the development of Armenian cinema and formation of the new generation is invaluable. People don’t work in cinema industry, they serve the cinema art. The way you have passed enriched the Golden Fund of Armenian Cinema”, said Sergey Harutyunyan.
It should be noted that Levon Atoyants made more than 30 feature and documentary films among which are “Morgan’s Godfather”, ‘Chaos”, “Big win”, “A soldier and an elephant”, “Where were you, man of God?”, “Sunrise in a sad street”.
Atoyants is also the awardee of the medal “Great cinema of the USSR”, “Grigor Narekatsi” gold medal, as well as the special prize of the annual national cinema awards “Hayak”.
