The unified ticketing system to be fully put into operation from January 1
The new unified ticketing system introduced in public transport is going to be fully put into operation from January 1. Various payment methods will be offered: paper one-time tickets with a QR code, a mobile application, travel cards and bank cards.
The Yerevan Underground will also operate on a unified system. After the full installation of the unified ticketing system, the use of tokens will be discontinued.
Along with the payment reform, the public transport fleet will also increase: Yerevan will have 171 more new buses.
Old and worn-out buses will be removed from the routes, some private routes will be transferred to the community.
The sectoral reforms initiated in the capital are aimed at creating a safe, accessible and comfortable transport system.
