By the decision of Yerevan Council of Elders, some structural changes will be made in the Municipality departments of HR Management, Administration and Services. At the meeting held on June 21 the Council approved of the draft decisions.

The goal of the changes is to operate a new model which will make it possible to create a completely electronic platform for human resource management, installation of a centralized system and carrying out an efficient HR policy.
With the introduction of Secretariat definite measures will be taken to provide townspeople with high-quality, appropriate services. The Secretariat will consist of the division of Citizens’ Service, General division and Archive Management division which will ensure consulting, citizens’ applications input, efficient management of calls, e-document management and a number of services townspeople have to encounter on everyday basis.

“Ensuring proper services for citizens is among our priority tasks, and the first impression people get of Yerevan Municipality work comes from this activity. Our aim is to ensure transparent, high-quality and effective services for the city dwellers”, stressed the Mayor.

The bust of the eminent Armenian conductor Ohan Duryan will be installed in the vicinity of the National Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet after A.Spendiaryan. The Council of Elders approved of the draft decision.

The Council also voted unanimously for naming Yerevan school N122 after the hero of the 44-day war, Senior Lieutenant Gevorg Arshakyan.

Another decision of the council referred to donating a flat in Yerevan with the right of free use to the World and Europe champion, awardee of a number of international tournaments, Greco-Roman style wrestler Malkhas Amoyan.

Yerevan Council of Elders also confirmed the decision to install memorial boards in Yerevan to commemorate the architect and geologist, Doctor of Geology, Professor, the Arm.SSR NAS academician, Distinguished Scientist Konstantin Paffenholtz, the RA Distinguished Educator, historian, publicist, translator Garegin Harutyunyan, the Armenian mechanization specialist, the founder of agricultural mechanization in Arm. SSR, Doctor of technical sciences, Professor, Distinguished Scientist of Arm.SSR Smbat Sahakyan and his son, Armenian scientist, candidate of technical sciences, Professor Eduard Sahakyan.

It was decided to rename Lisinyan street in Erebuni district after the eminent scientist, physicist, painter Grigor Gurzadyan and the Arm.SSR Distinguished Architect Sargis Gurzadyan, so it will be called Grigor and Sargis Gurzadyans street.
The council also made a decision to name the segment stretched from Verin Antarayin street to Leoniz Azgaldyan street in Kentron district after the composer, cello player, Arm.SSR People’s Artist Artemi Ayvazyan; the segment of Verin Antarayin street up to N150/17 will be called after the composer, Arm.SSR and USSR People’s Artist Eduard Mirzoyan; the segment of the same street up to N174/10 will be called after the composer, conductor, Arm.SSR and USSR People’s Artist Konstantin Orbelyan; the segment of the same street from L.Azgaldyan street to N128/2 will be called after the composer, the Arm.SSR and USSR People’s Artist Alxander Harutyunyan and the segment fromL.Azgaldyan street to Gohar Gasparyan street aftter the composer, RA Distinguished Art Figure, Arm,SSR and USSR People’s Artist Edgar Hovhannisyan.

The Council of Elders also confirmed the environmental program of construction of water cleaning station on the Getar river. The project provides for cleaning up the Getar from sewage water so as to prevent mixing of the polluted Getar water with the Hrazdan river which empties into Yerevan Lake. The program is aimed at preservation of the ecosystem and eco-diversity, as well as at ensuring health norms of the recreation zone.

By the decision of the council some changes will be made in community centres of outdoor advertisement placement. The procedures of applying for ads permission and their placement and some related issues are not regulated properly. The new project is aimed at elimination of problems with regulation of outdoor advertising.

This year the community plans procurement of 15 new trolleybuses and 150 buses. The council decided to allot additional 6,342,503.0 rams. 410,000.0 drams was allotted to purchase 41 new elevators and their installation. It should be noted that in 2022, the number of elevators to be installed (426) has increased by 10%.

“Haypost” CJSC will be allowed to lease plots in 12 administrative districts of Yerevan. The initiative will make it possible to raise the quality of services. Townspeople will have the opportunity to make payments locally so the effectiveness of revenue collection will increase.

This way the Council of Elders of Yerevan completed its activity in the 8th calling. The legislative body will restart its activity since September 13.
