During the current year the municipal NCO «Landscaping and Nature Protection»  of Yerevan removed around 1,500 old and ill trees to replace them with new precious sorts of trees.  Around 800 cubic meters of wood produced as a result of pruning and replacement have been stored and will be distributed to administrative districts, which will transfer it to needy families living in Yerevan. The number of families and their needs will be assessed by the district authorities. Each family will receive 1-2 cubic meters of community-owned firewood.
