From November 1, bus fares are to be paid with 100-dram coins or QR-code

21.10.2024

From November 1,  public transport fares, in particular MAN, ZhongTong and GazelCity vehicles, must be paid with a 100 dram coin or via QR code using the payment systems installed on buses. During the regular working meeting, Mayor Tigran Avinyan emphasized the importance of using only these two payment options, which will ensure a constant increase in revenues, avoid shadow phenomena and facilitate the transition to a single ticket system.
The Mayor noted that if people want Yerevan transport system to constantly develop, it is necessary for citizens to pay for bus fares with  100-dram coins or via the payment system on buses before the transition to a single payment system is completely installed.

Regarding the process of issuing construction permits, the Mayor noted that there are cases when some brokerage companies promise citizens or developers to organize the process of obtaining a construction permit by about 90% and solve the problem. Tigran Avinyan called for refraining from such offers of brokerage services.
"However, if Yerevan Municipality gives a positive conclusion within a standard procedure, it will turn out that the problem has been solved by the company; if not, it will turn out that they were unable to solve it, i.e. 10% worked.. Dear Yerevan residents, dear developers, such processes in Yerevan Municipality are sufficiently differentiated, and independent architects express their opinions on urban development projects, and only then, based on the opinion of this architectural council, architectural assignments and construction permits are provided. Corruption is not only accepting a bribe, giving a bribe is also corruption, and in this case it cannot be characterized otherwise than corruption, even though it does not concern municipal employees themselves, but third parties and companies are engaged in this. In all similar cases, the developers will also have problems," the Mayor emphasized.
