14.07.2025

The grand opening of the “Golden Apricot” Film Festival took place on July 13. For exactly one week, until July 20, audiences in Yerevan will have the opportunity to watch more than 100 films, including award-winning films from the Cannes International Film Festival. Renowned film stars from around the world have arrived in Armenia to participate in the festival. Among the distinguished guests are internationally acclaimed artists such as Amir Naderi, Abderrahmane Sissako, Athina Tsangari, Phedon Papamichael, Marco Müller, Ada Solomon, and many others from over 30 countries.
For the past four years, the Yerevan Municipality has been the primary supporter of the “Golden Apricot” Film Festival.
“Yerevan is an open city, always welcoming its people and all those connected to it through memory and roots. The Yerevan Municipality acknowledges the festival’s value not only as an event but also for its significant cultural impact. This year, we have organized programs, workshops, and master classes involving internationally experienced experts. These initiatives provide valuable opportunities for young filmmakers, actors, and directors to understand contemporary industry standards, engage with leading specialists, and develop their creative paths. In this regard, I would like to emphasize our consistent commitment to culture as a vital component of urban life. This embodies a focused cultural policy that is shaping Yerevan into a modern, open, and creative city boasting a vibrant culture. I hope the festival days will serve not only as a cultural celebration but also as a platform for exchanging ideas and creative approaches,” stated Mayor Tigran Avinyan in his speech.
