The 22nd season of “Charity kitchen” benevolent program has started
Yerevan Deputy Mayor David Ohanyan and the Ambassador Extraordinary of Germany to Armenia Matthias Kiesler visited the benevolent center “Home of hope” of the German Red Cross in Yerevan to participate in the opening of the 22nd season of “Charity kitchen” program. “Charity kitchen” is a program due to which approximately 450 elderly, lonely and needy citizens from a number of administrative districts of Yerevan get hot and rich in calories food once a day. This program realized in the benevolent center of the German Red Cross for 22 years has been implemented in co-financing with Yerevan Municipality for the third year running.
The many-year supporter and coordinator of the program, the representative of Baden-Wurttemberg regional organization of the German Red Cross, the leader of “Charity kitchen” program in Yerevan Carl-Heinz Schaide, as well as the Secretary General of the Armenian Red Cross Anna Yeritsyan, the deputy director of the Rescue Service of the RA Ministry of TAES. Lieutenant-General of Rescue Service Nikolay Grigoryan, the deputy minister of the RA Labour and Social Affairs Jemma Baghdasaryan were present at the event. Greeting those present on behalf of Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan, Deputy Mayor David Ohanyan thanked the partners of “Charity kitchen” program for its consistent implementation.
“Our cooperation has a long history and in the recent three years it has become more effective. Cooperating with Carl-Heintz Schaide we also implement “ Outreach service’ sub-project and today 125 citizens make use of it. I am delegated to assure on behalf of Yerevan Mayor that the Municipality is always ready to carry on this cooperation”, said Yerevan Deputy Mayor David Ohanyan.
The Ambassador of Germany to Armenia Matthias Kiesler also outlined the effectiveness of the program and assured that following the example of his predecessor in this office he will go on assisting in the implementation of this humanitarian mission.
Then the representative of Baden-Wurttemberg regional organization of the German Red Cross, the leader of “Charity kitchen” program in Yerevan, priest Carl-Heintz Schaide announced the program open and the beneficiaries were invited to the decorated canteen to have a festive dinner. By the way, according to the beneficiaries and the personnel of the canteen, except for the wine served on this occasion, the dinner doesn’t differ from their usual one.
