The social program included in “Erebuni-Yerevan 2797” celebration has started

For the second year running, on the initiative of Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan,”Erebuni-Yerevan” celebration has stood out with its social component. This year, 2797 families from the capital will get household electric appliances such as fridges, washing machines, ovens, gas cookers, TV sets, vacuum cleaners, iPads, irons and kettles. The number of the families symbolizes the age of Yerevan.
Within the frames of the celebration to be held under the motto “My warm and kind city” the social program was started on October 1. The trucks loaded with the presents and decorated with the logos of “Erebuni-Yerevan 2797” celebration and accompanied by the persons in charge of the Municipality and the administrative districts started towards the 12 administrative districts of the capital, to visit the families included in the program. According to the head of the Municipality Department of Social Welfare Ruzanna Zakaryan, by this social program to be implemented from October 1 to 10 the expected and beloved holiday of the warm and kind city will become unforgettable for 2797 families.
“It has become a tradition to start “Erebuni-Yerevan” celebration with a social program. This initiative of the Mayor was expected indeed, and it includes all the social groups of population. It should be noted that this year the program has included the families which weren’t included last year, and while making the lists we took into account the suggestions of our residents. The program covers all administrative districts”, said Ruzanna Zakaryan. The program includes Great Patriotic War veterans, participants of Artskh and Afghanistan wars, families of the fallen in Artsakh war, disabled veterans of Artsakh war, families of the servicemen died during the actions against the adversary in 2014-2015, families with disabled members or many children, the families with two servicemen at the same time, art and culture figures, honorary medical workers and teachers, Syrian Armenian families, young families, the families with the children without one or both parents, elderly people aged 100 and more, Genocide survivors.
