The final gala-concert of the 15th contest-festival of music and art schools of Yerevan took place in “Aram Khachatryan” concert hall.

Since 2007 Yerevan Municipality has been holding this festival the aim of which is to ensure proportional development of educational and cultural establishments, to increase the quality of education, to reveal and encourage gifted children, to promote the effectiveness of the activity of music and art schools.

 In 11 nominations the leader is the specialized music school after A.Spendiaryan,  the music school after Sayat-Nova is the runner up,  the music school after A.Tigranyan comes third, the forth and fifth places were taken by art school after H.Danielyan and music school after Jrbashyan.

Congratulating the schools and expressing gratitude to the teachers for devotion, Yerevan Mayor Tigran Avinyan outlined that cultural initiatives will be undertaken by the city authorities as frequently as possible.

At the jubilee event a choir consisting of almost 250 students of music and art schools of Yerevan was on stage after choirmaster Maria Galstyan. The young singers performed the chorale-suite “Komitasakan” created by a special order.

Composer Avetis Berberyan worked out, harmonized and arranged 30 spiritual and secular chorales composed by Komitas, created a series of chorales- suite for a children and youth choir. This is the first similar experience in choral art.

On the Municipality initiative the book of “Komitasakan” chorale-suite is ready. The presentation of the book took place during the event. The book contains the piano and the choir partiture. The book is planned to be transferred to the children and youth choirs of Armenia and Diaspora.
