Kievyan Bridge Undergoing Major Overhaul
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, accompanied by Yerevan Mayor Tigran Avinyan, Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport Zhanna Andreasyan, and Chairman of the Urban Development Committee Yeghiazar Vardanyan, inspected the progress of the Kievyan Bridge overhaul.
The project includes the rehabilitation of the bridge’s roadway and pedestrian sections, replacement of expansion joints and drainage systems, waterproofing works, renovation of the bridge railings, and restoration of the bridge’s spans and supports.
Mayor Tigran Avinyan noted that the external lighting cables will be completely rerouted underground.
It was also reported that similar work is underway on Kievyan Street. As part of the project, the entire external lighting network is being modernized, with cables being moved underground, while the sidewalks on both sides will be renovated and paved with tuff stone.
A total of 456 million drams has been allocated from the municipal budget for the bridge overhaul project.
Completion of the roadway works is expected by August 29.
