School N2 after Kh. Abovyan is 190: First Deputy Mayor is present at the event
The secondary school N2 after Khachatur Abovyan in Yerevan is marking its 190th anniversary. The First Deputy Mayor of Yerevan Levon Hovhannisyan, the member of Yerevan Council of Elders Arman Harutyunyan, the delegate of the National Assembly Hakob Aslanyan, the head of Yerevan Municipality Department of General Education Margarit Khachatryan, numerous alumni of the school and guests were present at the event organized in the school on the occasion.
A number of teachers of the school were awarded with thanksgiving diplomas of Yerevan Municipality for their many-year pedagogical activity and contribution to the sphere of education.
The First Deputy Mayor handed the diplomas and made a speech in which he stressed the importance of teachers’ mission not only as educators but also as those who hand down the rich national heritage and traditions to subsequent generations.
During the event, the history of the first and the oldest school of Yerevan was presented in a video film. Traditionally, the first-graders of this school bring their oath on October 15, prior to Kh. Abovyan’s birthday anniversary. Such a ceremony followed the show of the video.
