There are 70-100-year-old trees growing on the streets of Yerevan, which have lost their vitality over the years, weakened and create emergency situations for citizens.
Fallen trees are removed by decision of relevant authorities.
In order to reduce the number of accidents, this year alone, about 250 trees that have lost their viability and are close to death, as well as deformed, were removed in order to replace them with new ones.
Sometimes this program causes discontent among citizens, although this is done primarily to ensure their safety.
In the near future, we will see new, more valuable and durable tree species in some parts of the city.
