Green Yerevan: Growing Numbers, Enhanced Environment

13.03.2025

In 2024, the old and new streets of Yerevan underwent revitalization thanks to the rejuvenation of the green fund. New parks, squares, and urban forests have been added.  Last year, 4,539 trees, 58,276 bushes, 344,939 perennial and annual flowers, and herbs were planted in the city's plant nursery.
Generally, 53,253 plants grown in the facilities of the Landscaping and Enironment Protection NCO were planted. Around 4,200 cubic meters of soil mixture was transferred to the green areas.
The open-ground area of the Greenhouse and Nursery Facilities, which was just 1 hectare last year, expanded to 25 hectares. Alongside this, a new modern drip irrigation system was introduced, ensuring efficient watering for open-ground nursery-greenhouses. A 6,028-meter-long main water pipeline and a 99,000-meter-long drip irrigation network were also constructed.
An artificial reservoir with a capacity of 3,000 cubic meters was built. In the capital, approximately 31,068 square meters of new water pipelines and irrigation networks were constructed and modernized, while 1,553.5 square meters of existing irrigation systems were renovated.
With these efforts, Yerevan has taken significant strides towards enhancing its aesthetic look and improving the quality of life for its residents by creating a greener, healthier environment.
