The issues related to Yerevan and Tbilisi cooperation were discussed
Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan met with the delegation headed by the Deputy Mayor of Tbilisi Georgi Solomonia arrived in Yerevan to take part in ''Erebuni-Yerevan 2797''celebration.
Expressing gratitude for accepting the invitation and participating in Yerevan's day Mayor Taron Margaryan stressed the importance of development and expansion of bilateral ties particuarly outlining experience exchange in various spheres of urban economy and implementation of mutually beneficial programs. Referring to cooperation development between the two capitals Mayor Taron Margaryan noted that the friendship between the two countries and peoples is an important stimulus for strengthening the friendly and business ties between Yerevan and Tbilisi.
''Taking into account the centuries-old friendship between our peoples we should expand the existing relations between the two cities and make the interaction more practical. Yerevan Municipality is open and ready for mutually beneficial cooperation and I am sure, we will have new achievements in cooperation development'', said Taron Margaryan.
Having thanked the Mayor for the invitation and warm welcome the Deputy Mayor of Tbilisi Georgi Solomonia conveyed the congratulatory letter and warm greetings of Tbilisi Mayor David Narmania on ''Erebuni-Yerevan 2797'' celebration and his sincere regrets for not having the opportunity to tale personal part in the celebration. Referring to the partnership between the two capitals Georgi Solomonia stressed that the old friendship between Armenian and Georgian peoples is a good basis for cooperation expansion and development between Yerevan and Tbilisi.
''Yerevan is not only a reliable partner for us but also a very dear friend who is always ready to support his friends. Our sincere friendship was proved once again this summer when because of unprecedented floods Tbilisi got into difficult situation. You were one of the first to show readiness to show thorough support in the activities aimed at the elimination of the consequences of the disaster. Taking the opportunity I want to express our gratitude to you, Mister Mayor, for regarding us like a true friend. And we should do our best so that our subsequent generations carry on this relations and develop our centuries-old brotherhood. Be sure that Yerevan is a dear city for us and we will gladly participate in the celebration», said Georgi Solomonia and taking the opportunity invited Yerevan Mayor to visit Tbilisi in a week to take part in the celebration of the anniversary of the capital of Georgia, Tbilisi.
