25.09.2024

Yerevan Mayor Tigran Avinyan received the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Electric Networks of Armenia CJSC Karen Darbinyan and the General Director of the company Karen Harutyunyan.
The plan for modernizing the existing power supply network on 31 streets of the small center of the capital (145 thousand consumers), the purpose of which is to create a new system that will eliminate power outages in the specified area, was introduced to the Mayor. Accordingly, a network with two-way power sources should be created. The initiative involves systemic reforms of the existing system, including the deployment of new distribution networks and substations. In particular, for safety purposes, 23 transformer substations that existed on the first floors of apartment buildings since the Soviet era will be dismantled and placed in separate buildings built for these purposes. Another 31 substations will be modernized and adapted to modern requirements.
To implement the above-mentioned program, ENA CJSC plans to invest about 6.7 billion drams. The project will be implemented within 2-3 years.
Mayor Avinyan welcomed the idea and noted that Yerevan Municipality is ready to support within its powers the smooth implementation of the project.
