Asphalt Holes Are to Be Refilled Right After Work Is Over: New Requirements to Developers
The two companies providing repairing of asphalt holes in Yerevan have no appropriate technical means to refill the holes timely and completely. During the regular working meeting it was reported that one of the companies had got three reprimands and the contract with them is going to be terminated, the other company has been warned. Vice-mayor Tigran Avinyan instructed to involve the requirement to ensure digging and refilling of holes on the same day in the technical assignment of the competition. The vice-mayor also mentioned that only those companies which have necessary technical means can take part in the competition.

The competition for the construction of an alternative road connecting Nork Marash district to Saralanji street has not been held because of the participants’ absence. It was instructed to additionally inform the road construction companies about the competition.

The programs of renovation of Policlinic N 5 and improvement of its courtyard and of renovation of Policlinic N12 are going on. The “New Arabkir” health centre and “Cilicia” branch of Policlinic N8 are being renovated due to the government support. The overhauling of “Mher Mkrtchyan” artistic theatre has come to its final stage.

The arrangement of the coastal area of Yerevan Lake will be followed by its greening. The project is already ready.

Concerning the expired applications for legalization of illegal constructions it was reported that 128 cases of 3212 letters had been responded. The vice-mayor stressed that the city authorities have to concentrate on the problem of illegal constructions. If the construction doesn’t contradict logic and law and corresponds to standards, it can be legalized. Other illegal constructions must be dismantled.

As regards the program of resettlement of the dwellers of the 4th level emergency buildings at 4th lane of Artsakh street it was reported that some citizens were discontented with the offered price for 1 sq m calculated for purchasing their flats. Instead of dormitory rooms of 18-35 sq m the community offers them to purchase bigger flats priced 402 thousand drams per 1 sq m. The vice-mayor stressed that this amount is enough to purchase a property in different parts of the city except the city centre. The situation has to do with vulnerable building which can collapse as a result of an earthquake. The Municipality feels the responsibility of those people’s safety although it is beyond their direct responsibility. However, the consensus with residents should be found first.

To exclude cases of dumping building wastes in inappropriate spots the community is going to install a new system: the acts on construction completion will be given only if there is relevant document proving removal of wastes to the dump. A special receipt has been worked out. Relevant surveillance mechanisms will be installed as well to exclude fraud.

Newly-imported buses are gradually coming out on itineraries. “Gazel” mini-buses will be withdrawn from routes which will increase the quality of public transport service.
Road marking is going to be over in Kentron and Nor Nork districts except the spots where construction is scheduled. The process will be completed throughout the city within a month. The second stage will be fulfilled in autumn.
