At the invitation of Yerevan Mayor Tigran Avinyan, a delegation led by the Mayor of Rostov-on-Don is currently in Yerevan
Yerevan Mayor Tigran Avinyan received a delegation led by Alexander Skryabin, Mayor of Rostov-on-Don, often referred to as the southern capital of the Russian Federation. Over the years, the two cities have collaborated, carrying out numerous joint programs across various sectors.
Welcoming his counterpart and the members of the delegation, Yerevan Mayor emphasized that identifying priorities for future cooperation is the essential first step towards boosting bilateral relations.
“In recent years, Yerevan has achieved significant progress across various sectors. Large-scale infrastructure projects are underway: the public transport system is undergoing reforms, advanced digital tools have been adopted, and a unified GIS platform has been introduced. These initiatives aim to improve governance and the quality of community services. Meanwhile, we are actively upgrading the infrastructure of educational and healthcare institutions to meet modern standards. Kindergartens and polyclinics are being modernized to become more energy-efficient, safer, and sustainable,” stated Tigran Avinyan, highlighting that Yerevan is eager to expand cooperation.
Expressing gratitude for the warm welcome, the Mayor of Rostov-on-Don said there is significant potential to broaden cooperation and renew joint projects. Alexander Skryabin also highlighted the important contribution of the Armenian community to strengthening bilateral relations and to developing Rostov-on-Don, and invited Mayor Avinyan to pay a return visit to the southern capital of the Russian Federation.
