Every year the first Monday of October is marked as the International Day of Architects. The event dedicated to this day was organized in Yerevan. The RA Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan, Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan, members of the Government and numerous architects were present at the event. Congratulating the architects on the professional holiday Mayor Taron Margaryan wished them new creative accomplishments.
«It's one more occasion to refer to our centuries-old architecture, to appreciate our architects and the work as a result of which real values are created, architectural traditions and features are preserved and handed down to generations. Joining all the congratulations you have received today I want to wish you creative accomplishments, strong health to you and your families», said the Mayor.
On the event of Architect's Day and on the 25th anniversary of the national Museum-Institute of Architecture, for the significant contribution to museum art and architecture the staff of the museum was awarded with «Yerevan» gold medal. For his contribution to architecture, on the occasion of the professional holiday architect Levon Vardanyan was awarded with Yerevan mayor's Gold medal. The awards were handed to architects by the Prime Minister and the minister of Diaspora.
