The presentation of the illustrated book devoted to the founder of the Armenian national classic music school, great composer Komitas took place in the museum-institute after Komitas. Before the beginning of the event Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan, the Vicar of the Ararat Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church Archbishop Navasard Kchoyan and numerous guests visited the Pantheon after Komitas and put flowers at his grave.
The illustrated book was published by the initiative of municipal medical center “Surb Astvatsamayr” and authored by Ghazar Mirzoyan and Anahit Mkhitaryan. The first part of the book includes works of art by classical painters and the modern painters whose works have been exhibited at the donation-exhibition dedicated to Komitas. The second part of the book includes the biography of Komitas from September 26, 1869 up to 1914. The biographical data are supplemented with photos. The illustrated book also includes scientific works, articles, memoirs, the list of belletristic literature dedicated to Komitas in Russian, English, French and German.
Stressing the importance and necessity of this initiative the Deputy Mayor of Yerevan Aram Sukiasyan expressed confidence that the illustrated book “Komitas” would be a wonderful present for the society appreciating culture
Expressing gratitude to Mayor Taron Margaryan and to all those who showed support in the creation of the book the authors of the book noted that they had realized the project with great love and responsibility.
