On the event of the Teachers' Day and prior to the Day of Librarians teachers of secondary schools and pre-schooling establishments, cultural centers and librarians were hosted in the City Hall. The RA Minister of Educations and Science Armen Ashotyan was present at the event. Congratulating those present and expressing gratitude to them for devoted work and patriotic upbringing of the younger generation Mayor Taron Margaryan noted that this meeting is one more occasion to summarize the accomplishments and to outline further plans.
Traditionally, on the event of the professional holiday we invite you to the City Hall where besides congratulations, we discuss our accomplishments and the existing problems, the ways of overcoming the challenges. It's difficult to find the right words of appreciation for the workers of the sphere of education as no expression of gratitude can be equivalent to your devotion due to which every generation stands out as a guardian of Armenian independence, power of the state, as well as the bearer of the notion of endless love for Yerevan. In your everyday activity you give the answers to many questions, solve various problems. However, the most important task set before you today is to provide competitiveness and to raise the quality of education», stressed the Mayor.
Attaching particular importance to the policy carried out in the city libraries in recent years mayor Taron Margaryan assured that the attention to the system will be long lasting.

« The activity of the employees of the sphere of libraries is of great significance for the spheres of education, science and culture development. Our people have always treated literature with deep respect. In the conditions of modern technologies development Book stays the source of knowledge. Be sure that we attach importance to your role in the issue of upbringing and development of a worthy citizen», said Taron Margaryan.
Congratulating those present once again the Mayor wished them success and happiness.
Congratulating the teachers on their holiday the RA Minister of Science and Education Armen Ashotyan thanked them for devoted work.

I want to express my gratitude to all teachers you taught us a lot. Thank you, dear army of teachers. You are indeed the inside link of defence of our statehood. I am also grateful to the Mayor of Yerevan, who initiates our annual meeting on this event», said the Minister of ES Armen Ashotyan.
For the contribution to the sphere of education, for many years of devoted work, by the Mayors decision, the medal «Honorary teacher of Yerevan» was awarded to the biology teacher at Yerevan school,N 83 Tamara Mikoyan, the headmaster of the school N 108 Andranik Avetisyan, the headmaster of the school N 120 Gegham Hayrapetyan. For effective work and contribution to the aesthetical education of children the headmaster of the music school after Al. Spendiaryan Marina Vardanyan was awarded with Yerevan Mayor's Gold medal. A number of employees of the sphere of education and culture and the system of libraries were awarded with Yerevan Mayor's thanksgiving and honorary diplomas.
