Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan met with the delegation of Shiraz (The Islamic Republic of Iran) headed by the Deputy Mayor Mohammad Farukhzade. The delegation arrived in Yerevan to take part in «Erebuni-Yerevan 2797». Taron Margaryan thanked them on accepting the invitation. Speaking about the common historical and cultural features of Yerevan the Mayor pointed out the new approaches and programs aimed at the city development. Outlining the present-day high level of Armenia-Iran relations Taron Margaryan pointed out the cooperation between the bodies of local self-government.
«Bilateral cooperation is particularly important from the point of view of finding solutions to similar problems and experience exchange. We are open and willing to develop mutually beneficial cooperation and I am sure that there is wide field for cooperation be between Yerevan and Shiraz which we should make more practical», said the Mayor.
Expressing gratitude for warm welcome the Deputy Mayor of Shiraz Mohammad Farukhzade in his turn noted that as the cities with old culture Yerevan and Shiraz can expand their relationship and implement joint projects in various spheres.
It's a pleasure for me, Mister Mayor, to be in Yerevan and I am sure that Yerevan and Shiraz have a big potential for the implementation of joint programs. We will do our best to strengthen and develop our bilateral ties», said Mohammad Farukhzade.
