Mayor Taron Margaryan meets with representatives of Oracle company
Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan met with the manager for cooperation with strategic partners in the Middle Asia, Africa and Caucasus regions Babak Kobari and with the company's representative in Armenia Levon Ghantarjyan.
Greeting the guests Mayor Taron Margaryan stressed that nowadays Yerevan Municipality actively cooperates with various organizations worldwide in the field of installation of e-governance systems in different spheres. The Mayor also presented a number of programs fulfilled and planned in this regard outlining that according to the surveys made by E-Governance institute of Rudger's University (USA), Yerevan was included in the top five cities with best e-governance rates together with Seoul, New-York, Singapore and Hong Kong.
“Attaching importance to application of information technologies from the point of view of making citizens' service more available and convenient Yerevan Municipality has installed numerous governance tools particularly in the sphere of coordination of the activity of administrative staff and in some other spheres. Due to it today the official website of Yerevan Municipality renders about 60 electronic services. Among the most successful ones is “One Window” system through which we can provide rapid respond to residents' applications. In teamwork with the UNDP office we are also working out “Smart City” concept”, said Mayor Taron Margaryan outlining that the Municipality is willing to discuss the suggestions for working out joint programs and their possible implementation.
Expressing gratitude for the meeting and willingness for cooperation the manager for cooperation with strategic partners in the Middle Asia, Africa and Caucasus regions Babak Kobari in his turn said that a number of programs to promote development of the capital and improvement of infrastructures can be successfully installed in Yerevan.
“Among tens of countries we selected Yerevan to present our programs taking into account the rates of your city in the sphere of e-governance. The company's forty-year experience in database proceeding makes it possible to give diverse solutions within the scope of the logic of “Smart city” project. I am sure that our cooperation will be mutually beneficial and successful”, said the regional manager of Oracle.
The parties arranged to form a working group which will comprehensively discuss and present the preferable directions for possible cooperation.
