Mayor Taron Margaryan meets with the Mayor of Split (Croatia) Andro Krstulovich Opara
Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan met with the delegation headed by the Mayor of Split (Croatia) Andro Krstulovich –Opara arrived in Yerevan to take part in “Erebuni-Yerevan 2799” celebration.
Greeting the guests and expressing gratitude for the visit Mayor Taron Margaryan noted that the visit of the Mayor of Split is a good opportunity to establish partnership between the two cities.
“We attach importance to cooperation expansion and strengthening with partner cities which also contributes to the development and updating of infrastructures in various spheres of urban economy and significant improvement of the quality of services. in this context cooperation can be established between Yerevan and Split. During the recent years we carry out concrete programs aimed at proportional development of the capital, as well as implement initiatives targeted at tourism boosting by means of ‘Smart city” concept”, said Taron Margaryan.
The Mayor of Split Andro Krstulovich-Opara thanked for the invitation and warm welcome and attached particular importance to the willingness of Yerevan Mayor to form partnership between the cities.
“Mister Mayor, four months ago I was elected Mayor of Split and this is my first visit abroad. Being in Yerevan for the first time I must admit that I have already felt the warmth and hospitality of the capital and its residents I am very glad that you show your willingness to establish partnership with various cities and I assure you that we are interested in it too and will do our best to promote establishment of tight and mutually beneficial cooperation between the two cities within the frames of European programs as well as we already have such experience”, said the Mayor of Split.
Congratulating the Mayor of Split on being elected on his position and expressing gratitude for the visit to Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan taking the opportunity invited Andro Krstulovich-Opara and the members of the delegation to visit Yerevan next year and participate in the events dedicated to the 2800th anniversary of Yerevan foundation.
