Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan welcomed the delegation headed by the Mayor of Glendale (USA, California) Vardan Karapetyan arrived in Yerevan to take part in the celebration of “Erebuni-Yerevan 2799”. Greeting the guest and expressing gratitude to Vardan Karapetyan for the visit Mayor Taron Margaryan expressed confidence that the Mayor of Glendale will contribute to strengthening and expansion of business ties with Glendale.
“I am sure that Yerevan and Glendale have wide possibilities and perspectives for cooperation in various spheres of urban economy as well as in experience exchange in management. During the recent years we have adopted the concrete policy aimed at investment environment activation and tourism development. Currently serious steps are being taken in the capital to attract investments and to improve business environment. We are ready for cooperation and taking into account the important role of Armenian community of Glendale I am sure that due to joint efforts we will be able to activate the relationship between the two cities carrying out mutually beneficial programs”, said Taron Margaryan.
Having thanked for the invitation and warm welcome Glendale Mayor Vardan Karpetyan expressed confidence that soon the relationship between Yerevan and Glendale will become closer and more practical.
Mister Mayor, it is always a pleasure for me to be in Yerevan and I am sure that our cities have big potential for realization of joint programs. By the way, many people call Glendale the capital of Armenian Diaspora. be sure that strengthening and expansion of ties with Homeland are highly important for the Armenian community of Glendale and we will certainly achieve it”, said Vardan Karpetyan.
Taking the opportunity Mayor Taron Margaryan invited Vardan Karapetyan and the members of the delegation to visit Yerevan next year to take part in the celebration of the 2800th anniversary of Yerevan foundation.
At the end of the meeting the Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Kentron administrative district of Yerevan and Glendale.
