At the behest of Yerevan Mayor the delegation headed by the Mayor of Antony, France Jean-Yves Senant arrived in Yerevan to participate in “Erebuni-Yerevan 2797” celebration and met with Mayor Taron Margaryan. Greeting the guests and thanking them for accepting the invitation to celebrate the Day of Yerevan together, Taron Margaryan noted that the visit of the Mayor of Antony is a wonderful occasion to strengthen mutual ties. “Today Yerevan cooperates with a number of French cities and due to this cooperation various important projects are implemented. The tight cooperation resulted in the successful implementation of the projects in the sphere of local self-government, economic development, tourism stimulation and some other fields and this cooperation is a stimulus for discussion and implementation of new programs. I have always attached particular importance to the cooperation of the 12 administrative districts of Yerevan with the cities of different countries and it’s fine that sisterhood memorandum has been signed between Davtashen district of Yerevan and the city of Antony, France. I am sure it’s a good beginning to strengthen bilateral cooperation”, said Taron Margaryan.

The Mayor of Antony Jean-Yves Senant in his turn thanked for the invitation and warm welcome and outlined the willingness of Yerevan Mayor to strengthen the partnership noting that it is one of the most important preconditions to put the interaction between Davtashen distirct and Antony more practical.

“It’s very pleasant to be in Yerevan, and I should say, Mister Mayor, that I have been surprised with its attractive look and the pace of development. From this point of vies it’s important for us to establish partnership with Yerevan and to exchange successful experience”, said Jean-Yves Senant.
During the meeting Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan stressed particular importance to the contribution of the member of French Parliament Patric Devejyan who is Armenian by nationality and of the French-Armenian Union of Antony to strengthening bilateral ties.
