Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan was present at the ceremony of reopening of “Kanaker Zeytun” maternity home of the capital. The RA Minister of Health Levon Altunyan, the Chancellor of the Mother See of Holy Echmiadzin, Archbishop Arshak Khachatryan and leaders of different medical establishments were present at the event. The honour of opening was given to Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan and to the director of the maternity home Karen Kutoyan.

It should be noted that the maternity home functioning since 1958 which is the only medical establishment in Kanaker Zeytun district that provides obstetrics and gynecological services has never been renovated and during the recent year it became extremely shabby. The main part of the equipment of the hospital was of Soviet period production and it made it impossible to provide appropriate medical care. last year,during his working visit to the administrative district Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan got acquainted with the poor condition of the hospital and instructed the persons in charge to involve the renovation of the establishment in the annual program of Yerevan Municipality and to finish the overhauling within a short time and to provide proper medical service of the residents.
After the ceremony of opening Yerevan Mayor walked about the premises, familiarized himself with the work done, with the conditions created in the medical establishment with the aim of providing proper services, talked to the personnel.
Presenting the work done to Mayor Taron Margaryan the director noted that presently the hospital had already been provided with up-to-date medical equipment and new furniture and within the frames of the renovation program the maternity home has increased the number of services and created additional rooms. Congratulating the personnel of the maternity hoe Mayor Taron Margaryan assured that the programs aimed at the improvement of the conditions in medical establishments will be continued.
“We actually did large-scale work in the direction of complete renovation and refreshment of medical equipment. The policlinics and medical centers subordinated to Yerevan Municipality will always be at the focus of our attention. We will take certain steps towards renovation, modernization of equipment, renovation of furniture and personnel's training in all municipal policlinics. I am sure that within a few years all the policlinics of Yerevan will be renovated”, said Taron Margaryan.
Expressing gratitude to Yerevan Mayor for the support and consistency in the program implementation the employees of the policlinic assured that as a result of the program awaited for years the residents can get appropriate medical service.
