RA Prime Minister and Yerevan Mayor familiarize themselves with a number of investment projects in the capital
Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan accompanied by Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan visited the area adjacent to “Dalma Mall” complex where it is planned to carry out the investment project of construction development of the agricultural quarter “Armenian Village”.
Presenting the details of the program the persons in charge noted that it is planned to create an ethnic quarter with residential areas,hotels (guest homes) typical urban and rural settlements of various regions of Armenia, with historically formed architectural features, as well as with the exhibition halls representing national arts and crafts ( carpet weaving, blacksmiths craft, ceramics, making souvenirs). Prior to the project the experts of the State Committee for Urban Development adjunct to the RA Government and Armenian National University of Architecture and Construction made carried out studies regarding the types of “Armenian house” characteristic for various areas of Armenia (Goris, Dilijan, Ashtarak and so on). It was noted that the process of project documentation for the Ethnic Quarter was started and currently the investment fund for the construction is on the stage of formation, and the owners of the land plots and Yerevan Municipality expressed willingness to participate in it.
The head of the Government expressed confidence that “Armenian Village” can become one of tourist attraction of Yerevan, promote further development of cultural tourism and contribute to recognition of our country. On the spot the persons in charge were instructed to present the final version of the project as soon as possible so as it can be discussed with the investors.
Afterwards Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan and Mayor Taron Margaryan together visited “Erebuni” historical and archaeological reserve-museum to familiarize themselves with the project of the museum modernization which provides for presentation of the history of Yerevan foundation in new approaches. In particular it was noted that an environment is to be created here which besides historical aspect will have innovative method of presentation. In some areas where the diggings had been over the constructions will be recovered with some architectural solutions, mainly with movable equipment.
Attaching importance to the program Karen Karapetyan offered to implement it with the attraction of international experts.
The RA Prime Minister and Yerevan Mayor also visited the Shengavit historical and archaeological reserve as well as Karmir Blur areas. On the models they were presented the project proposals for reconstruction of these areas and creation of tourist infrastructures. Stressing the importance of implementation of the programs Mayor Taron Margaryan noted that the aim of the initiatives is to provide proper presentation of the capital’s centuries-old history to townspeople and tourists. Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan offered to discuss them with foreign experts so as to find the solutions maximally outlining tourism attraction of the mentioned areas.
