Yerevan Mayor Hayk Marutyan welcomed the representative of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees Representation in Armenia Anna-Carin Öst. Mayor Marutyan pointed out the tight cooperation between Yerevan and UN Office in Armenia within the frames of which a number of programs have been successfully implemented and are being implemented and the results are noticeable for the refugees residing in Yerevan. In her turn Ms. Anna-Carin Öst noted that Yerevan, which shelters thousands of refugees, shows maximal support to make them feel completely at home.

Mayor Hayk Marutyan accepted the proposal of the UNHCR Representative in Armenia to join the Petition “Stand with Refugees” which has already been joined by many cities and towns worldwide.
