Yerevan Mayor Hrachya Sargsyan who is in the capital of the Islamic Republic of Iran had a meeting with the Mayor of Tehran Alireza Zakani. The leader of “My Step” faction of Yerevan Council of Elders Armen Galjyan, the leader of “Prosperous Armenia” faction Armen Nersisyan and the leader of “Luys” faction David Khazhakyan participated in the expanded meeting. Stressing the importance of to-be establishment cooperation between the two capitals, Hrachya Sargsyan and Alireza Zakani claimed that the potential of the relationship has great perspectives for development and expansion.
The official part of the meeting was followed by the ceremony of signing the treat on declaring Yerevan and Tehran sister-cities. Hrachya Sargsyan and Alireza Zakani also signed working programs according to which the parties are obliged to develop cooperation in the spheres of transport, urban economy, culture, nature protection and other fields of urban economy.
Expressing gratitude for the invitation and warm welcome, Yerevan Mayor invited his Tehran colleague to Yerevan with a reciprocal visit.
