Yerevan Municipality is taking actions to ensure accessibility of pedestrian crossings for people with disabilities. This year the number of addresses where elevators are to be installed is 10. Currently, an elevator is being installed in the underground passage near the market in Komitas avenue. The elevator in the passage of Baghramyan avenue has been installed and is being tested.
The elevator is suited for 200 kg. Instructions for using the equipment are stuck on the platform. It is important to keep all rules of safety.
 The elevator will be put into operation very soon. However, some changes for convenient approach have to be made by then. Besides adjustment of underground crossings the city authorities intend to implement some other projects. New wheelchair ramps will be built as well. The city is to be equally convenient and accessible for people with mobility, vision and hearing problems.
