Comfortable and Modern: Gradual Changing of Underground
Over the past two years, Yerevan's metro has been modernized and re-equipped. Approximately 6 billion 300 million drams have been invested in these programs. The metro depot is getting a new lease on life: the roof and doors have been renovated, which cost 153.7 million drams, and the 825-volt cable connection points have been upgraded, with a total expense of 47 million drams. The power batteries and charging systems in the stations have also been changed, with an investment of 290 million drams. For the overhaul of the escalators at the "Republic Square" station, 260 million drams were disbursed. The escalators at the "Gortsaranain" station have been completely replaced, with a budget of 204 million drams. The replacement of the escalators at the "Sasuntsi David” station is still underway, with an investment of 114 million drams. Next up is the replacement process of the escalators at the "Zoravar Andranik" station, with a tender announced for 504 million drams.
