Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan together with the director of "South-Caucasus Railway" CJSC Victor Rebets and other officials was at the solemn ceremony of opening the market which has been constructed in the square adjacent to the railway station where the old market used to be which considered the most available market of agricultural products in Yerevan. Accompanied by the director of «South Caucasus Railway» Victor Rebets the mayor of Yerevan walked about the market and familiarized himself with the conditions, talked to the sellers and the buyers. Taking the opportunity both the sellers and the buyers expressed gratitude for appropriate conditions created at the market. Presenting the work done to Taron Margaryan Victor Rebets mentioned that the market had been constructed in accordance with European standards and noted that this fact can't cause rise in prices of agricultural products. Totally about AMD 800 million was invested and 250 working places were provided. He also noted that this market is the only one which is to be heated in winter and cooled in summer. The walls of the market are built of the material providing necessary conditions for work at the temperature from -40 to +40 degrees centigrade. Stressing the importance of the work of the market Mayor Taron Margaryan noted that the Municipality welcomes such initiatives and is always ready to allocate corresponding areas for the organization of agricultural markets.
«This is one more good example of cooperation between the Municipality and the private sector. We welcome such initiatives. You can see what conditions have been provided and we will do our best to provide proper conditions for sellers and buyers at all the markets of the capital. It is not only a good opportunity for countrymen to sell their products directly but it also makes it possible for the residents of the capital to buy agriculture products at available prices. Moreover about 300 working places have been provided and this number will go on increasing. It certainly has a social significance», stressed the Mayor.
Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan accepted the invitation of the director of "South Caucus Railway" CJSC Victor Rebets to walk about the building of the railway station and to get acquainted with the facilities. The Mayor of Yerevan also visited the Railway museum of Armenia familiarizing himself with the history of railway. Victor Rebets handed the Mayor of Yerevan a memory medal with the symbols of Yerevan and the Armenian railway.
