The community to become one of sanitary cleaning operators: new snow cleaning trucks to be delivered
To organize proper snow cleaning Yerevan Municipality purchased 9 new special trucks. “KamAz” company (Russia) was recognized winner of the competition. Yerevan Mayor Hayk Marutyan tested the facilities of the new trucks himself.
The new machinery can do several actions simultaneously. Besides snow cleaning, they are provided for sand and salt sprinkling. During warm seasons the trucks can serve as water sprinkling trucks providing the cleanness of Yerevan streets. The trucks have modern “Euro 5” engines which make it possible to reduce harmful emissions. The trucks can also work in automated mode.
“Sanitek” company which is responsible for the sanitary cleaning and waste removal in the capital doesn’t carry out its functions properly for a number of reasons, one of which is the trucks being out of order. To have proper sanitary c leaning the city purchased its own machinery. During the last 25 years Yerevan Municipality gets its own waster removal and sanitary cleaning station for the first time. “This is only a smart part of the machinery we are going to purchase. Soon the community will have its own machinery for waste removal. Later there will be two or three operators, and taking into account the international experience one of them can be Yerevan community itself. The negotiations are going on and as a result during the year the community will become an operator”, said Hayk Marutyan.
The motto of the company producing the trucks is “Cleanness throughout the year” and soon the special machinery will appear in the streets of Yerevan.
