Taking into account the fact of instillation of the ethic norms of behaviour, Yerevan Municipality in cooperation with the RA Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures undertook the responsibility to work out the rules of community workers’ behaviour at work. To ensure the process, last year the community joint the “Open Government Partnership Local” initiative, the action plan for the years 2023-2024 was worked out. The goal is to instill a more transparent, effective and accountable style of work.
The issues related to the sphere and the main ways of solving the problems were discussed during the meeting of the representatives of civil organizations, active citizens and colleagues from the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures held at the Municipality.
To work out the etic rules, changes will be made in the RA law “On public service”, and the commission for ethics will be formed. The chief specialist of HR department coordinating the sphere will follow these rules. After the discussion, the schedule for actions to be started this month was outlined. The municipality employees will take refresher course. It was offered to form a special working group which will supervise the whole process. The new rules are aimed at decreasing possible corruption risks. Acting head of HR Department of Yerevan Municipality Mery Margaryan stressed that the community has about 1600 community workers, and when taking a position each of them must understand his/her duties. After confirmation of the codex, public awareness will be organized.
