Yerevan Delegation Is in Estonia
From 21 to 25 of March, the delegation headed by the First Deputy Mayor, Acting Mayor Levon Hovhannisyan was in Tartu, Estonia at the invitation of Tartu Mayor.
The delegation also involved the member of “My Step” faction of Yerevan Council of Elders, head of the standing commission for culture, education and social issues Hayk Mirzoyan, the member of “My Step” faction Levon Zakaryan, the Member of “Prosperous Armenia” faction Armen Nersisyan, the secretary of “Luys” faction Ani Khachatryan.
During the meeting with the Yerevan delegation, the Mayor of Tartu Urmas Klaas attached importance to the developing interaction between the two cities and outlined that there is a wide range of possibilities to transfer the bilateral ties to a practical phase.
Levon Hovhannisyan expressed gratitude for the invitation and reception and stressed the willingness of the city authorities to implement certain programs in various spheres.
The parties also spoke about the perspectives of cooperation in the spheres of healthcare, education, culture, innovation technology, transport and energy efficiency. By the way the academic city Tartu was awarded with the title of “European Capital of Culture” of 2024.
The delegation of Yerevan also had a meeting with the vice chairman of the City Council of Tartu Reno Laidr, discussed some legislative issues related to the activity of the Council of Elders. The delegation visited several educational and cultural establishments, met deputy mayors coordinating different spheres of Tartu, with the executive members of the university hospital council and the representatives of the Armenian community of the city.
During the visit Levon Hovhannisyan also met the Mayor of Tallin Mikhail Kilvart. This year Tallin was awarded with “The Green Capital of Europe” title. During the meeting the issues of bilateral interest were discussed. The delegation of Yerevan also met with the Armenian community of Tallin.
