“All kindergartens in Yerevan must be comfortable and well-arranged”: Mayor Tigran Avinyan visited overhauled preschool N109
Yerevan kindergarten N109 founded in the 1970s, is another overhauled one where comfortable and safe conditions have been provided for 170 kids. The program started in 2021 completely changed the environment of the preschool. Yerevan Mayor Tigran Avinyan together with the head of EU delegation in Armenia Ambassador Vasilis Maragos and the representatives of other partner organizations supporting the program visited the kindergarten to see the conditions provided.
The project was implemented within the frames of Yerevan Energy Efficiency Program. Seismic safety increase and energy efficiency are important components of the program.
Total cost of this project is 15 million euro. It is financed by the European Investment Bank, the E5P Foundation, the Green Climate Fund and Yerevan community budget. The costs of the reconstruction of kindergarten n109 is 430 million Armenian drams. Due to the support of partner organizations, within the frames of Yerevan Energy Efficiency Program a number of municipal kindergartens as well as policlinics will be renovated in near future.
Before starting the second stage, in 2023, 23 kindergartens will have been renovated in Yerevan within community and international programs. The position of the city authorities in this issue is firm: all kindergartens of Yerevan must be comfortable and well-arranged.
