This is the second year running the Municipality of Yerevan has held a Watermelon Festival in the area of the Swan’s Lake. The event was held within “Yerevan summer” 2014 program.
Special variants of watermelon decoration were suggested by official buffet companies. Carving specialists amazed the passers-by with their unique decorations and the latter hurried to take a photo and showed interest with secrets of this art. By the way, symbols of Yerevan were also presented in these works of art. Games and competitions were organized during the event.
The residents and guests of Yerevan to taste some watermelon served by popular singers, actors and TV presenters in the special pavilions.
In the evening Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan visited the area of the Swan’s Lake. While talking to the people who hurried to express him their gratitude for the event and for trying to make the everyday summer life of people more interesting, Taron Margaryan said that various events had been planned in the administrative district within the scope of “Yerevan summer” program. The Watermelon Festival lasted till late evening and was followed by a concert program and ended with a disco.
