930 new waste containers for sorting four types of waste. The “Capital Cities Collaborating on Common Challenges in Hazardous Waste Management - Yerevan, Warsaw, Tirana” project is summarizing its results.
Within the frames of the project cofinanced by the European Union and implemented by Yerevan Municipality, two multi-functional waste removing trucks were given to the capital. These trucks will be transporting glass waste.
The new containers will be enough for sorting glass, plastic, paper and aluminum waste. The culture of waste management has formed in the city only during four recent years.
Special eco-clubs have been set up in elementary and secondary schools which participate in various competitions to manifest what should be done to preserve the environment and as they say – to save the planet form piles of garbage.
