New approaches in road maintenance to be applied in Yerevan
In near future the community will have “Yerevan” medical centre provided with high-quality services and up-to-date equipment. The draft decision on renaming, changing the Regulations and reorganization of “Kanaker-Zeytun” medical centre CJSC into “Scientific and Research Institute of Cardiology after Levon Hovhannisyan” CJSC was confirmed at the regular meeting of the Council of Elders. Yerevan Deputy Mayor Gevorg Simonyan curating the sphere of health care of the capital stressed that the goal of the team initiated the structural reforms is to render high quality servicing of the population and to ensure proper working conditions for skilled medical staff. Currently, renovations are going on in Yerevan policlinics N12 and N5, and in 2023, 10 more policlinics will be renovated within the community programs and the program of “Construction Development” Program Implementation Agency. This year the community plans to purchase 30 units of medical equipment of 7 names, the total cost of which is 237 million drams, and in 2023 there will be 31 units of medical equipment of 9 names for which 679 million drams will be allotted from the budget.

New approaches will be used in the issue of road maintenance which will significantly improve the condition of infrastructures, the quality of servicing and which is of no less importance, the terms of planning the activities will be under more attention so as to avoid road jams as much as possible. In 2023, the road segment of 200 km will be repaired in the capital. The renovation will include asphalt cover, crack filling, lifting of manholes. Taking into account the current and anticipated volumes of activities in the field of building improvement, as well as the necessity of a correct model od management, the Council of Elders decided to make structural changed in the Department of Building and Improvement.

The Council also made a decision to install in appropriate areas of the capital the memorial boards dedicated to the great Armenian poet Yeghishe Charents, to the RA People’s Artist, actor Karen Janibekyan, to the RA NAS academician, the RA Distinguished Scientist, Doctor of Technical Sciences, professor, Honorary Citizen of Yerevan Sergey Hambardzumyan, to the Arm. SSR Distinguished Architect Levon Hovhannisyan, to the senior researcher of the Volcanology Laboratory of the Institute of Geology of the RA NAS, PHD in Geology Sergey Karapetyan.

The new residential quarters being constructed at 320, Tichina street in Ajapnyak district of Yerevan will be named “Defance Housing”. The Council approved of the draft decision. The project being implemented in several stages also provides for the construction of a school, a kindergarten, a modern well-equipped hospital, a business centre. A forest of spruce trees resembling the Bois de Boulogne Park in Paris is to be planted in the adjacent area of 11 ha.

During the meeting the Council of Elders also confirmed the middle-term program of Yerevan for 2023-2025.

The next regular meeting of the Council of Elders is scheduled for November 22.
