Yerevan Beer Fest 2014 was held on August 22 in the area of Swan’s Lake within the frames of “Yerevan summer” program of the Municipality of Yerevan.
Deputy Mayor of Yerevan Aram Sukiasyan greeted the participants and those present on behalf of the Mayor of Yerevan Taron Margaryan and noted that the Municipality initiating this festival hopes that it will become one of the favourite festivals in the capital.
12 beer producing organizations and pubs took part in the festival.
“During the three summer months the Municipality organized numerous events within “Yerevan summer” program. We planned to hold the Beer festival in August when it is full of tourists. It has been proved that as far back as 3000 years ago people knew the recipe of beer making in the area of Yerevan, so we are going to make this festival an annual brand festival aimed at best representation of the traditions of Armenian beer”, said the head of the division of tourism of the Department of Culture and Tourism of the Municipality, the coordinator of the festival Maria Baraghamyan.
Within the five hours of the festival various competitions were held, the band “Alexandropol” showed their performance. According to the representatives of the organizations, a number of prizes were prepared. There are still 4 events to be held within “Yerevan summer” program by August 31. On this day a final concert will be held in the area of Swan’s Lake.
