“Armat” lab opened at Yerevan school after M.Khorenatsi
The engineering lab “Armat” has opened in Yerevan basic school N143 after M.Khorenatsi. The workshop has been furnished with all necessary equipment and devices.
Schoolchildren will study programming, animation, game creation, robotics, 3D modelling and printing, as well as creation and management of drones (UAVs). 120 pupils have already enrolled on “Armat” studies.
The project has been fulfilled due to support of Yerevan Municipality and “Tovmasyan” foundation.
The First Deputy Mayor Levon Hovhannisyan, the head of Nor Nork administrative district Armen Mheryan, the president of Board of Trustees of “Tovmasyan” foundation Artak Tovmasyan, the head of Yerevan Municipality Department of General Education Margarit Khachatryan, schoolchildren were present at the opening event.
Levon Hovhannisyan stressed that schoolchildren should have the opportunity to get education in this field as well to keep up with the development of information technologies. Later it may help them in professional orientation. Thus, the cooperation between the community and private sector is of high importance. Yerevan Municipality keeps supporting implementation of such projects in municipal schools.
Today “Armat” labs work in several basic schools of Yerevan. Pupils intend to apply the knowledge they get in development and strengthening of the country.
