From November 28 to December 1, the delegation headed by the First Deputy Mayor Levon Hovhannisyan was in Paris on an official visit. The delegation also involved the leader of “My Step” faction Armen Galjyan. During the visit Levon Hovhannisyan had a meeting with his colleague, Deputy Mayor of Paris Arnaud Ngatcha.
Expressing gratitude to the City Council of Paris for the resolutions made in protection of Armenian people, Deputy Mayor of Yerevan highly appreciated the partnership and friendship with Paris. Levon Hovhannisyan also expressed hope that due to further joint efforts the effectiveness of cooperation can become even higher.
During the meeting the parties discussed the issues related to the cooperation in different fields of urban economy, particularly in the field of education, culture and youth affairs.

The Yerevan delegation also had a meeting with the president of France-Armenia Friendship Group of the Senate of France Gilbert-Luc Devinaz. Highly appreciating Senator Davinaz’s devotion to the French-Armenian friendship, Levon Hovhannisyan expressed gratitude for recently accepted resolution co-authored by him and stressed the support of France to Armenian people during the 44-day war and beyond.
The delegation of Yerevan Municipality also met the Counsellor of Ile-de-France Regional Council Anne-Louise Mesadieu. The ties established in 2011 were brought up to date by the recently signed three-year cooperation program between Yerevan Municipality and Ile-de-France Regional Council. The First Deputy Mayor expressed hope for lasting cooperation. The French party expressed willingness to implement effective joint projects called to strengthen and develop further collaboration.
The delegation headed by the First Deputy Mayor also had a meeting with the Mayor of Plessis-Robinson Jacques Perrin and the former Mayor, now Senator Philip Pemezek. Arabkir administrative district of Yerevan and Plessis-Robinson have been cooperating since 2006. During the meeting it was arranged to carry out schoolchildren’s exchange and joint cultural programs. The delegation visited the park adjacent to the Municipality of Plessis-Robinson where the tufa Khachkar presented by Yerevan Municipality is installed.

The Yerevan delegation also participated in the “Cities for Biodiversity” (C4B) international forum. Representatives of nearly twenty countries and international organizations took part in the discussion organized jointly by the Municipality of Paris, the World Bank, the “Expertise France” and the French Development Agency.
The First Deputy Mayor of Yerevan Levon Hovhannisyan, the head of Yerevan Municipality Department of Development and Investment Programs Armen Harutyunyan presented the main challenges and possibilities of the realization of the Action Plan for Sustainable Development Goals. The current and already fulfilled green initiatives of Yerevan were presented as well. The members of Yerevan delegation also participated in the plenary discussions and familiarized themselves with the experience and fulfilled programs of other countries.
