Gevorg Gharibyan, Head of the Department of Children and Social Protection of Yerevan Municipality, attended the 2025 British Psychological Society Annual Conference, held in Bristol, United Kingdom, from November 27 to 30. He delivered a lecture titled "Transforming Historical Trauma through Drama Therapy," which explored psychological rehabilitation strategies for forcibly displaced and socially vulnerable people.
It is worth noting that Yerevan has considerable experience in supporting forcibly displaced families. As the country’s largest community, facing complex, multi-layered challenges, Yerevan has successfully implemented coordinated initiatives that focus on the adaptation, support, and empowerment of these families. These efforts have prioritized identifying the specific needs of vulnerable groups to ensure the delivery of targeted assistance.
A preliminary agreement was reached with the Chair of the Psychotherapy Section of the British Psychological Society to conduct specialized training programs for psychologists and social protection specialists from the Department of Children and Social Protection of Yerevan Municipality, as well as from the Children and Social Protection Divisions of the administrative districts.
