Yerevan Municipality Prioritizes Breast Cancer Prevention Programs
The “Europa Donna” European Breast Cancer Coalition, active since the 1990s, brings together 37 countries. Among them is the Republic of Armenia, which has been a member of the organization for 11 years.
The Department of Healthcare of the Yerevan Municipality considers late diagnosis of diseases one of the most critical issues in the country and therefore prioritizes programs that promote early diagnosis and public awareness. In this context, the municipality plays a paramount role in modernizing medical institutions with advanced equipment and ensuring training programs for medical personnel.
The “Europa Donna” coalition is engaged in organizing informational meetings and conferences. Thanks to these initiatives, the disease has been detected at an early stage in many patients, resulting in successful treatment and full recovery in a significant number of cases.
