Yerevan Municipality and Yandex Armenia have signed a memorandum of understanding and cooperation aimed at improving the capital’s urban environment. The “Data Exchange for Improving the Urban Environment” initiative seeks to enhance the efficiency of Yerevan’s transport infrastructure. Within the scope of its technical and legal capacities, Yandex Armenia will provide the municipality with analytical data to support the introduction of a centralized transport management system.
Mayor Tigran Avinyan emphasized that Yerevan Municipality is open to cooperation and is ready to implement joint projects to improve the quality of life for Yerevan residents.
Aram Mkhitaryan, Head of Yandex Armenia, expressed confidence that data-driven insights will facilitate the modernization of the city’s transportation system through centralized management.
Within the framework of the memorandum, Yandex Armenia will provide analytical data on urban mobility, navigation, street networks, bus stops, as well as public transport routes, while ensuring data privacy. The information is expected to support the deployment of “smart” solutions aimed at enhancing the comfort, reliability, and predictability of public transportation for Yerevan’s residents.
